Data Transport Laboratory (DTL) Architecture
The DTL is designed to support the operating systems, Web servers, database servers, and map servers found in the local and regional observatory communities. To that end, the DTL employs two parallel stacks. One is a Microsoft Windows-based stack and the second is Linux stack-running Red Hat Enterprise 4. The diagram below illustrates the initial conceptual architecture of the DTL. The Web server, database server, and map server packages employed in the DTL may change over time in response to changes in the community.
