Regional Data: Chesapeake Bay Land Cover Change PrototypePeriod1984 – 1988/89 
DescriptionThe Chesapeake project was the prototype land cover change for C-CAP, serving as a test of the C-CAP classification and change detection protocols. The product was completed in 1992 with Landsat TM imagery (Path 14 Rows 33 and 34 and Path 15 Rows 33 and 34), covering all of Chesapeake Bay proper, from Delaware Bay in the north to Norfolk, VA in the south. Inland extent includes the metropolitan areas of Baltimore, MD, Washington, D.C., and Richmond, VA. A descriptive summary of this data set is available in Portable Document Format (PDF). The summary includes a report of the dominant land cover changes, tabular summaries of the 1984 and 1988/89 land cover data sets, and a change matrix (or tabular summary) for the 1984-1988/99 change data set.
